Training for trainers

Whether you work with individuals or groups, you will be aware of how many people would benefit from learning a new set of skills that will positively impact on their health, wellbeing and money management. Our courses will equip you to deliver healthy cooking classes or projects, giving you the relevant tools and resources to teach with and to cascade healthier eating messages.

Whether you are new to training or have some experience, we offer courses that give you the skills, confidence and know-how to integrate healthy eating programmes into your work setting.

We have trained a range of workers, including from Supported Housing, Day Centres For The Elderly, Mental Health Workers, The Youth Service, Children's Centre Staff, Learning Communities Teams, Learning Disabilities Workers and Health Trainers.

Examples of topics covered include:

  • Awareness of good hygiene practice
  • Food Safety
  • Knife Skills
  • Preparation of a series of easy-to-follow healthy and delicious recipes
  • How to maintain a balanced diet
  • How to demonstrate cookery in limited facilities
  • How to plan, shop and budget Increasing fruit and vegetable consumption
  • Working with hard-to-reach groups
  • Evaluation

  • All courses are tailored to your requirements. We come equipped with resources, tools and ingredients.
  • Duration: 12 - 16 hours depending on course content.
  • Groups size of up to 12 participants depending on facilities.
